Snowshoe Hare, this evening. Sigma 24-135mm at 135mm with built in flash. I had to fix severe bunny red eye:

Very cool, Monza ... interesting looking animal ... I assume they have big feet hence their name??? Are those ticks on its ear??? I just didn't realize that you had them that far north. Please keep posting your wildlife pix ... I really enjoy them!

Thanks,

Ron

The ones around here are still spotted and changing from their winter white.

I don't believe they are ticks but they seem to be some sort of parasite or infection. I will ask around.

I couldn't reach out and touch him but, as you can see, I was so close I was shooting down at him. I will ask somone from the Provincial wildlife service about the marks and find out if it is ticks.

It's a neat photo - very sharp and clear, especially if we can see a tick on it's ear (does look like a tick to me, too).

Last weekend I was wandering around the backyard and saw a rabbit maybe 15 feet or so from me. We looked at each other for a long time, both of us standing still. How I wanted my camera! As soon as I moved away from it, it disappeared and was no where to be found when I returned with the camera.

We photographed this little guy for about 10 minutes, getting to within 2m. My wife has many images taken with the Fuji S7000. Finally we were basically standing over him having a conversation. He didn't hop away until we turned to leave and even then he wasn't in any hurry.
