Just popped my split image screen into my DL. For my occasional paying jobs I will use AF lenses most of the time (the 24-135mm Sigma f2.8-4.5 will probably stay on the camera throughout a wedding). For everything else I will be shooting with my MF lenses most of the time. I hope to collect some A-series lenses (already have a Takumar-A 2X teleconverter and, thanks to Roy, an SMC-A 70-210 f4 zoom) since they will allow full exposure automation.

Pentax champ

I use a number of older primes that I am quit happy with. Most of these are from Vivitar , including a 400mm f5.6 and I also use a 300mm Tokina prime.

I shoot mainly action and I prefer manual focus, even with my auto focus zooms that I occassionally use. This is for motor racing and I prefocus for the corner I am working I know I will get accurate focus.

alison,
manual focus is the only way to go with macros. with the distances involved AF can't keep up. i put the lens on the size image i want and lean in and out slowly..

Yep, that's exactly what I do too.

Although my only macro lens is AF100mm, all my macro shots were down manually.

KEH has a couple of M100 macro at $89 which are really decent performer equivalent to that of the FA model.
