How big have you printed with the *ist DL and still produced a good quality image (that would be good enough to frame and hang on a wall).¬* Thanks...

I have seen full poster size and it looks great. I can get a photo of the print if you would like to see. Very sharp and not grainy.

Wow, a full poster! Yay!¬* According to online things I have read, 6 megapixels is not enough for posters, but I will trust you Crashman¬* (by the way, were those in RAW or JPEG?).¬* I guess those online estimates were non-DSLR.¬* I will be taking some graduation photos tomorrow, so I will make a large print or poster to suprise my cousin with (she is the one graduating).¬* Thanks for the help.

I have had customers wanting A2 size quite regulary and it looks pin sharp.

A1 however there is some evidence of the edges becoming a bit softer.

A0 is really only good for Black and White prints, the noise becomes apparent and the edges get even softer. I have only printed 2 at this size at the present time.

Just for reference, "A" series paper sizes in inches are:

A2 =16.54 x 23.39

A1 = 23.39 x 33.11

A0 = 33.11 x 46.81

Thanks for the sizes - I see these as options on some printing programs but never knew what size they really were.

ok

i wouldnt hang it on my wall

but i did a crop of this image to leave just the sky (the original image)
http://johndolphin.net/photos/details.php?image_id=680

and used it as a background for an A frameadd

it was printed at 2400mm x 1200mm

and from a short distance looked all right

I was able to go up to A4 format with my 3.1 MP Panasonic before I got the DL.

So I guess something between A3 and A2 will look very decent at 6.1 MP (ist DL)
