I have no other info. I asked the same question about the 645 and was told quite specifically that the super body (35mm format not 645 format) would be 18 mp.

We will just have to wait now til photokina in Germany.

Spoke to my contact again today.Sorry some of the gossip was correct and some wasn't.

Sensor size is CONFIRMED at 10.3mp not 12mp, Samsung Sensor NOT Sony

Release date is September.

December is the expected release date for the larger camera, apparently a pro body with full size grips, definately a larger MP sensor may even go full frame sensor. I have no other information.

I don't know if the September camera will have stabilisation/shake reduction.

The fact that the sensor is a 10.3MP is better news to me than having 12. It'll be interesting to see the reviews of this camera. Is this supposed to be a new sensor or is it currently used in another camera?

It would be nice to see if the camera is build like a tank
And do you know anything about USM/AF-S like lenses ?

The demand for a weather sealed DSLR has sort of lingered. The Olympus E-1 was the last one, and Olympus has not created a follow-on model to the E-1. Market demand for a weather sealed SLR now seems minimal. I know the weater in Holland makesweather sealingimportant.

Although outdated and only 5mp, there are still lots of E-1 loyalists out there who are waiting for a replacement. However, keep in mind that the new CMOS chip is from Samsung. That sort of verifies that Samsung really wants into the DSLR market.

Yes it is true that wheather sealing is very nice for the weather here in Holland

The Canon 1D(s) pro dSLR's are wheather sealed and also the Nikon D1/D2 series I thought.

Last thing I read on the 18mp Medium format Pentax is July at the earliest because instead of 18 they are trying for a larger sensor, somewhere in the high 20's I think. A serious camera, but guarenteed to be a serious price tag.
