OK I held out long enough, so here is one from me to add to the thread. Nothing special...just leaves!

All very nice! Love the fact that someone can pick up this camera and will be able to take lovely pictures with the minimum of practice. Keep it up!

My attempt at back-lit leaves. These are the best I've managed so far. Can't decide if I like the effect from the slightly too narrow DOF with this first one - if I get a chance this weekend I might try to take it again and see what it looks like with the whole leaf in focus.

Just had to add something here... Had to play around to get this one. A shamrock asleep for the night...

Interesting shape, it gives an idea of some pre-historic bird or flying dino with huge wings, a tiny headand a long, narrow beak. I think the DOF is good as it is, but if you moved focus from the stem (stalk?) to the web-thread it would move up from good to WOW!

The only thing with that is that you have to see the web before you take the picture. I didn't see that oneuntil I looked at the photo on the computer! You are right - that would have been a much better picture than focusing on the stem.

It's funny that you mentioned that it brought to mind a prehistoric bird. The picture I liked the best for shape was even more bird-like. It was a better picture of the leaf, but the background was the same color, so the leaf didn't stand out the same way this one did - another "almost" photo of mine (the story of my life).
