:OI justcalledKEH to order a Sigma 70-300 APO Macro Super auto focus for my *istDl and was told by the sales rep that the Sigma APO would not work with the new digital cameras because the chip in the lens would not auto focus properly and that theywere not compatible with the DL:?. Is this fact or fiction:?I see postings that the Sigma 70-300 APO Macro works very well. What's the story???

It is compatable with my DS, so I think the sales person either knows no of what they speak or wants to get you into a more expensive lens.

Does however raise my interest given the problems I've had getting my Sigma 24-135 to work with my DL. Still waiting for it to be returned from its second trip for warranty repair. Wonder if there are some of the Sigma chips that don't work well with the DL? Of course, they might be different in these two lens anyway.

Cheers, Mike
