This first shot is at the other end of the range! The ship is several miles away (4 maybe?) the mountain about 50 or maybe more. View is from Wellington across Cook Strait looking towards Kaikoura.

Confession is in order I believe, I think I actually took this one with my 'new' Sigma 400 5.6. I picked this lens up at a junk shop and it is rather sorry looking thing, dirty and scratched. I have spent thea bit of time convertingfrom what I think was a Minolta lens to the K mount. I lost the auto focus and I dont think the lens ever had a manual aperture (not where I can find it anyway) but I have incorporated a lever in the mount conversion. This particular shot was taken full open. All things considered I think it was worth thedollars I paid for it (about US$25).
