took about 50 and finally got some inflights. well, almost.

quick eye is better. see fly, push shutter button for as long as it will go.. it took a couple of hours and i'm not really satisfied. these were w/the 105 vivitar..

You got some patience there Roy. My experience has been they seem to know when the camera is pointed at them. They hover but as soon as you point the camera at them, they are gone.

jim, D flies usually come back to the same roost. try, like i did and stake out a roost and get them when they come back.. patience ..

Yeah, but then you got to point the camera at them again. One vicious circle. Thanks for the advice. Mostly need to work on the patience part.

i'll have the cam focused on them, exposure set ,eye to the cup and wait. seems like everytime i take my eye away that's when they fly and come back. these are the only ones i'd post out of 2 years and about 400 shots.
