Roy - Just got a 50mm F4 Macro, Super Multi Coated Takumar for $63 on Ebay. I haven't received it yet, but should this week. It also came with a set of extension tubes. My LBA has subsidedfinally, until the next time:-)- Bruce

the problem with those is you have to use it stopped down. with ext tubes it will be even darker. it's a fine lens tho..

The M42 50mm f/4 macro lenses from Pentax has two f/stop adjustment rings, so you can set the meter with one ring and then open the lens wide open for focusing using the second ring and then just run it back to where it was for the exposure.

Roy - All my old Takumars are that way, I have gotten use to it. I focus wide open, then stop down and shoot. I have becomepretty efficient at it. It hasbecome a very minor annoyance I can put up with for the picture quality these old lenses give me- Bruce

How weird is that. I saw two of those type of dual aperture ring lenses the other day at the camera fair/market.

I thought they were just some sort of weird lens, Now I understand why they have the two rings. Never seen them before and noone had ever mentioned them before you just did.

I used to have that arrangement on my old Zenit camera. Wish I had kept it, as the 50mm lens was perfect.
