Today I purchased two Sandisk SD cards for my istDS, 2 GB, for $60 each at Office Depot...I do not know if the sale is local, just that store only, or nationwide, but I thought $60 for a 2 gig card was reasonable and I thought I would let you know...

Considering that I paid $45 for a 512 MB Lexar card at Sams, this seemed like a steal...their MSRP was $99, so 40% off seemed good...

Sale lasts until July 15...

I do not know if they are high speed or not, but for what I do, the price was good...

My coworker who shoots weddings with his high end Canons buys Ritek/Ridata cards at Newegg.

Like $42 or something for a high speed 2gig SD card there.

My $24 1 gig Ridata card is working fine.

Check it out.

I recently bought an Ultra 40X 1gb card from zipzoomfly for $9.99 after rebate. It is now $12.99 after rebate, which is still a great deal. I have been using it in my new DL and it works great. Zipzoomfly is an excellent e-tailer.

I just checked the ad and they're the regular SanDisk cards. It's still a good price. They get a lot more for the 2GB Ultra II.

:evil:I guess this tip is for the next person buying a 2GB SD. I bought two Transcend 2GB 144X SD cards for $42 each at NewEgg.

They both work great in my Pentax ist DL and Canon A520. I have been using a 1 GB Transend 80X forsome months and am happy with it (in other words...no noticeable failures).

That's interesting. I tried two different 1GB Tanscend 80x in my DL and neither would work. They work great in my KM Z1 so I kept them for that. So now I don't trust anything but SanDisk in my DL.

It must be that soggy (lately) MA weather: SD cards don't work underwater, you know. :-)

I've used all three SD cards interchangably between the DL and the A520: each camera puts it's pictures in the respective folders ...and they don't interfere with each other, including the A520 is making a "movie."

I wonder if it speaks to your individual DL camera?
