i currently have a:

pentax 18-55

sigma 70-300

pentax 50mm f1.4

im looking for a good portrait lens.

any recommendations?

is the 50 prime i have good for portraits?

You have a good portrait lens, the 50 mm 1.4. If you like to spend your money (+ - 1000 USD), look for the SMC-A*or FA* 85 mm 1.4.

Some people also like to use a 135mm f2.8 or f3.5. I just picked up a f2.8 on eBay for US$12 plus postage.
