As for the bulb setting, I don't have a remote release, so I used the old finger. The great thing about lightning is it happens so fast the bolts imprint themselves on the film, or in this case, the ccd so fast and so bright that a little movement from your finger doesn't matter. It was on a tripod as well. As far as the lenses, the caterpiller, the hawks and the quail were my promaster 70-300 zoom. It has a great macro setting, making it possible to shoot things like the caterpillar. The stormclouds and lightning were with the kit lens. All on a DL. Here's another shot I took last month. Love those sunsets.

If you can keep getting shots like that, you need to live outside 24/7!!! Great shots!!! Those colors in the sunset are phenomal!
