Having seen Lawrence's pictures of the train in Colorado, I thought I would post the following pictures from my recent train ride on Amtrak's"Empire Builder" (Chicago to Seattle) as well as a steam train excursion in Washington State. These are not models--they are real thing!! Jay

Nice pictures! Did you happen to get off the Empire Builder in Glacier NP? I was watching a documentary on Glacier and they mentioned that the train goes right through Glacier - what a wonderful way to get to a magical place. Of course, Mt. Rainier is no slouch, either.

Harriet,

The Empire Builder cuts right through Glacier NP and the RR Station is a couple of hundred yards from the lodge. Many passengers disembarked at Glacier. We did not (unfortunately); it is on my list of places to visit/things to do!

The more pictures I see, the longer my list gets for things to do. Now if I only I could do something about the amount of money and time available. : )

Regards, Lawrence
