hi,

i was using the sigma 70-300 at 300mm and as i recall was able to approach within 2-4 metres. i can't remember if i had to switch the macro on or not but it almost looks like it which i think would put me closer than 2 metres. shot at iso 800 to try and get some shutter speed.

Squirrels and chipmunks are so cute. I don't remember the difference because there's a breed of ground squirrel that looks like a chipmunk to me. In either case, all of these are delightful!

kjell,

while out today did a quick check with the camera and from that i'm guessing i was more like 3 metres not 2. still pretty close and they definitely weren't stuffed!

Here is one I took a while back! They are nothing but cute pests around here, chewing into everything in sight just like rats but nicer looking.
