mtclimber, how much did you have to under-expose? The colors are very rich....

Here's a shot taken just before sunrise in Destin, Florida last Thanksgiving.

OK, here is my contribution...but it was taken with a Canon A200 (2 MP) point and shoot digital in 2003. I have not shot any sunsets with the DL as yet--plan to do so next week when I visit the East cost. The following picture was taken at Hilton Head Island, SC.

pentax4me-

I used -1.3 exp comp on the posted photo. Here is another photo taken at the same site, that is so easy to get so often, our back deck. HereI used -1.0 exp comp.

I, too, am partial to shooting sunrises and sunsets. Here are small versions (because that's what I had quickly available) of a couple of my favorite recent shots. First one is a sunrise at Indian Springs State Park in Georgia in February. Second is a sunset in Warner Robins, Georgia, in June. Both are shot with kit lens (18-55) on a DS2.

mt - Can I move in with you - what a great location!

Dan - Your two are really awesome - or at least they look that way on an absolutely terrible monitor at work that I use occasionally on breaks (I can hide behind it better). Just my opinion, but your two aregood examples of why it isn't always wrong to have the horizon line more or less in the middle.
