Hi all,

I went to the Farnbrough Air Show today here in the UK, armed with my Pentax *ist DL2 and Sigma 70-300 lens. I have to say that I had a lot of trouble with the autofocus system and the fast moving displays. I ended up switching to manual focus, and because it was a bit of a dull day, selected a higher ISO and a smaller aperture.

I took nearly 800 pictures and thought I'd share a few with you.

This first one is the Red Arrows RAF display team. They put on an absolutely awesome display, as usual.

And finally the Harrier Jumpjet.

It's a shame there wasn't more light as the pictures are a bit grainy, but I am quite pleased with them.

What do you guy's think?

wow, you're complaining about no light, the last one i went to there was not a cloud in the sky. ALL of my pix of the planes were way underexposed. fortunately i shot the whole show in raw so i was able to salvage quite a few. learned a little trick in PS that saved the day.

Hi robar,

Unfortunately, because I wanted to take lots of pics, I was shooting in JPG mode.

However, I've emailed the photo to you anyway and I'd be interested to see what you can do with it.

Regards

Russell
