Hi,

I'm new to this forum, and thought I would introduce myself with a photo.

Taken on a spring day with a DS/18-55 lens @ f8 @1/200 - Hand Held.

Not bad for a kit lens!

steve , welcome to the forum. thanks for the image.. the kit lens makes a great close up lens.. i have quite a few great shots done with it.. be real careful here as macros can really get under your skin.. i've had the monkey on my back for some time.. it seems you just want to get closer and closer.. actually it's not closer , it's magnification as macros can easily be taken from 3 feet away..

Roy-

I fully agre with you that the kit lens is indeed a real bargain. It is a shame that some folks pass it up and purchase the body only.
