Thanks for the comments. Ron, I used a Tamron 28-200 f3.8-5.6 ASP lens for all those shots. Tom: it's funny you mentioned the power plant. I noticed the plant as I was driving out of the part. Perhaps I'll return to take pictures there if I'm feeling gutsy.

When I lived out there, it was a great place to surf!

The bird looks like a Long-billed Curlew to me.
