This is enormous and dead serious. An airline may not allow you to go onboard this few days with this bazooka. You have some pict to share from this very capable prime?

This is how the lens itself looks.

Two months ago I purchased a Sigma 100-300mm, F4 constant. Requires 82mm Filters but very sharp, loses very little with my Cambron 1.5 tele xtender. Internal focus and zooming. I found new on ebay, dealer had two more that I do not believe sold.

After the recent events an airline won't let me or you on board with a point-and-shoot, or even a tube of toothpaste! This means trouble, since theft in luggage handling is far too common, and even if the airline should compensate for your loss with money, they could never help you to find a mint, manual top-of-the line lens to replace what was stolen or lost.

Sample pics (not very recent, though, and some have been posted before in this forum)

First one with the 2Xconverter (Pentax Rear Converter A 2XS)

And a roe at approx 100 mtrs, pretty low light (I really would need a sturdier tripod, or maybe a K10D with anti-shake. Do you hear me, Santa?:-)):
