Hello Guys,

I just bought the Tamron Autofocus 75-300mm f/4-5.6 LD and I have trouble with it.
When I set the lens, the camera is not able to find the focal length. The viewfinder shows "f--" and the lcd on the top shows "Av" blinking continously.

I tried setting the camera is aperture priority, shutter priority, program and all other modes and still have the same problem.

Can some one please help me on how to fix this?

Thank you,
Kumar

Two things, okay might be three, actually make that four...

1. Might be defective lens
2. Might be dirty electrical contacts, clean them
3. You might have aperture ring (if it has one) to an f stop rather than the AE or A position
4. The lens does not like you or your camera:lol::lol::lol::lol: Just kidding

Crashman,

thanks a lot for the info. Your third suggestion about the aperture ring was correct. It was in mode other than "A". I changed it, and it is working accordingly.

thank you.
