So here is a straight outta the camera 1600iso pic taken at f6.7, 1/4s, 55mm, SR on, manual wb. Taken with K100D and cheap kit lens. Compared to my p&s this is fantastic for such a slow shutter and iso!

We've a couple of Golden Persians, so I guess I'm a sucker for cat images - great shot.

Don't be afraid of post processing. I adjusted the Shadow/Highlights to bring out the texture in the white area of the cat's 'coat and added a bit of USM to sharpen things up slightly - not too much or spoils things.

Hope you like it.

Impressing result at that ISO!

Let me introduce the rest of the family. Self-test: how many cats can you see in the picture? (answer on page 85)

That would be 5. Same as the number of cats we have. Four of them black and white. Showed my hubby the photo...now he wants a fresh litter!

Great shots!

Thanks Catbells on the improvement. I just wanted to show an image right out the camera to give prospective buyers an idea what to expect before pp.

Bilybianca what a cute familly!!

Correct! But only three of the kittens are from this year, the one licking her fur is the adult sister of the other three. She has one kitten that is her own, but that one is so shy we seldom see him, and only my youngest son have beenallowed to pat him.
