Has anybody tried such a combination (yeah, I know that it will be a rather dark combo but still...)? I was told at local camera shop that it is not possible as the glass surfaces may come into contact and result in damage of both... :-( True or not?

Best, JR

Why would the glass surface come into contact!!!

I often use a 1.4 TC with my Tamron 70-300 when doing sports.

take the cam and lens in and check it out. i've found that most people in the ''camera'' stores are not very ''enlightened'' as to their products..

What you mean is.. a salesperson will try to sell something, without knowing or caring anything about the product itself.

yes, i have had personal experience with this.

actually some converterters will not work with certain lenses. the pentax "S" and "L" models are good examples.

Thanks You guys/gals for encouraging- tested out and works OK- as I said I am not afraid of 1 stop loss- and still my K100D focused in any case- I mean in any condition it would without TC- strange but my first experience... :-)

If something worth of posting, I will certainly contribute...

Best and happy shooting, JR
