Yay, I got my tubes today, so decided to have a bit of a play. Had to put them with my 70-300 lens though as that's the only one I have with an apperture ring at the moment! lol!

Here are a few from today.

Hmm, not sure I would have done quite so well without them to be honest, dunno, will experiment and see.

doesn't the 70-300 have a macro setting??? that's what i was refering to.

Ah, yes it does but the tubes actually improve it's ability, well, sort of, you need to overcome camera shake and a couple of other things like focusing! lol! It means that you can shoot further away than normal to achieve the results which is great when shooting butterflies cos they keep flying off if you get too close.

I wanted to try it out with a grasshopper or two but they didn't want to play today, every time I got down to take my shot "hoppity hop" and they vanished into the undergrowth! lol!

I did think of doing some "with" and "without" tubes shots but was too lazy to keep swapping things around! lol1
