Ok, there are three tubes numbered 1, 2 and 3, a lens coupling ring and a body coupling ring.

My understanding is that the add on tubes should all be able to be used on their own as well as in a combination. However, I am unable to unscrew the body coupling ring from tube number 1 in order to be able to use tube 2 or 3 on their own. It's solid, won't budge.

Any tips on how to loosen it up? It's not really a big deal but I would like to be able to use the number 2 tube on it's own rather than having to keep the number 1 on there all the time.

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

try holding it under warm running water, so it'll expand a little...

if you got the same ones as I do (these:

then yes, you should be able to loosen all the rings.

bad link TDN.

alison, mine are all independent of each other. i only have 3 rings and they all have the mechanical coupling and bayonet mount.

If I seperate mine, I need the body coupling ring part to attach them to the camera but that is firmly stuck on the number 1 tube.

I only paid about £8 for them so can't really complain but it would be nice to be able to seperate them properly.

your's are different than mine. i don't need to attatch them to anything. they just all mount directly to the cam.. i know you will not like this but have you pressed the release button to disengage them??

ROFL! They screw onto each other so no, I haven't pressed the release button, don't think there is one, I did think of it but couldn't find one. lol!

Just checked and definitely no release button. Was actually hoping there would be one.

Well, I've emailed the seller to ask it they are supposed to come apart, perhaps they aren't but I'm sure they are, maybe he might come up with a way to part them! lol!
