You use the camera for what it is intended: to help us see what we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Superdupermarvellous!

Alison - Can you remind us what setup you are using for these photos please.

Darren

The set up used is in the description line of the subject. I try to include this in all my posts as I like to know the set up myself that others use.

Great Shots Alison.

Aren't common or garden flys just wonderful close up?

Dom
Yes, they are, it's fascinating watching them through a camera lens, you see so much more detail in their faces than you can see with the naked eye.

i'm off to get a stepup ring so i can fit my diopters to the 105. you are shooting way too many macros and doing such a horrible job at it that i think you need some proof of what a good image is contrived of.. yeah right. lol

i did go and get a stepup ring today and tried the 105 with a #3 diopter. distance to subject is about 1 1/2'' , flash worked fine at 1/350 but the magnification is around 1.75:1.. DOF is nothing. i'll post results later.. while i was in the camera shop the guy pulls out a smc400 f4*.. the drool appeared!!! the lens was HUGE. the drool stayed there.. it's definately a tripod only lens.. i asked him 'how much' and he said his dad said as soon as he saw it ''it's mine''.. oh wel...

roy
edit: make that a f2.8
