Going to the riverside on Sunday I decided to take another shot at the GM World Headquarters with my Tamron 70-300. I think this shot shows how clear the lens can be.

That's Detroit and I'm in Windsor so this show is a few miles away.

As clear as a bell.

Did you use a tripod ? I believe it is at its max at 300mm. If so not bad at all.

Ah, the RenCen! One of my favourite subjects to shoot when i'm down at the river....nice picture!

Is that the autofocus Tamron? The sales guy at the photo store here almost convinced me to get that lens, but I stayed with my original decision to purchase the pentax 50-200.

Don't mean to hijack your thread nlp, but while we're looking at the Detroit skyline...here are two more shots I took recently!

One of my first shots testing the reach on my 50-200, this boat was docked all the way across the river on Detroit side. I'm loving it!

Nice shots of Motown guys! Lived in the Detroit area between 1988 and 1991 (worked for Ford at the time in Dearborn). I was always envious of folks such as your selves who lived in Windsor and enjoyed the best view of the Motor City skyline! Jay

Daniel, hand-held I swear.

Jelpee, you're right Detroit has a beauty of a skyline but it wasn't always like that.

Smooth, nice to see you again, the second shot is quite nice - taken from Oullette? It's the FA 70-300. Given the choice and the money, I would probably go for the Pentax lens.

Thanks everyone.
