POP suggested using smart sharpen and change it from remove"gaussian blur" to remove "lens blur". I tried it last night and liked the effect, but wasn't sure it was that much different than USM, unless you get into the advanced mode, where you can specify different rates of sharpening between highlights and shadows (kind of neat - their example was one where there was more noise in the shadows so they didn't sharpen them as much).

Gee, something new to play with!

I've tried that settingbut for some reason yours is BETTER-go figure. I was playing around with the other settings and wonder when CS actually defaults to the defaults value. Must shut it down and restart or maybe its at rebooting of the system. We'll see.

Ira, I told you this forum is full of ole' timers no wonder the young ones come here for advise.

And speaking of that, I remember I was in Vancouver in '75 when Cibachrome first came out with home processing of colour but had to be + or - 1 degree for the chemicals.
