Very nice! Isn't that the MGM lion? Your the second person I've seen who's posted interesting Vegas shots - whenever I go there I never seem to "see" these great shots (well, it's hard to find suitable subjects if you are spending your time in Albertson's and shopping for scooters).

Did you use a polarizer for the first one? I wondered how you controlled the reflections so well.

Yes it is the MGM Lion, and I didn't use any filter and the The color is just how the jpg came out of the DS with no color or contrast adjustment.

The wife was at the Fashion Show Mall and I just went out and looked for things of interest to take photos of.

I did move around until the reflection was at a minimum before the shot, but that is all.

I kind of like this one, also shot with no filter.

Fantastic composition Tom! Vegas is a great place for photos..the architecture, neon lighting, people. I was lucky to get some very nice pictures using a Pentax film point and shoot about 5 years ago. The one of the fountains at the Bellagio came out especially nice. I would love to return with my DL! Here is shot from a little noticed part of the Flamingo Casino store front.

I only took one lens with me this day and had a great time finding ways to use it to get some compositions outside the norm.

If I remember correctly, those neon flamingos have been on the Flamingo for many years - it seems to me they were part of the incredible neon lights before they did the last addition/renovation. But that was a number of years ago, so I could have it wrong. Did you wander through the Flamingo's gardens and look at the birds? One of these days I'll go over there with the camera.
