I was out this evening. We really need some rain, but these storms died out before they got here. These are 20-second exposures with the kit lens on the DL

I got these three good shots. This one actually has fireworks just to the right of center, in addition to the lightning

Yep, that was the kit lens. All three have been cropped, the third has been cropped more than the others, but the only other post processing included a touch of sharpening and a bit of brightening in the levels. Another storm is on the way. Gotta go.

Nothing boring about these shots. We're probably all sitting here wishing and wanting to do some lightning shots - at least I AM

Lightning shots are far from boring, yours are excellent too, I particularly like that first one, something about it that really appeals to me.

Jhacker

I agree with Alison. Not Boring at all. And like her I really like that First Shot.

I lnow they really are not boring, I'm fascinated by lightning and basically consider every lightning bolt I don't get a picture of a piece of art lost. I have friends, however, who can't seem to understand why I "shoot the same thing over and over. It's lightning, you've seen one you've seen them all." The quotes are their words. It's not the same though, each one is different, each one is exciting in it's own right. My Brother-in-law is the same about me taking pictures of my nephew, A.J. "I just don't understand why you have to shoot 50 pictures of him doing the same thing, over and over again." He doesn't understand that in each picture, the look on AJ's face changes with each shot. Sorry, had to vent. Anyway, I went back out at 4:30 a.m. and shot this pic. Enjoy
