Thursday night a tornado crossed State Highway 169 about 1 mile south of St Peter, MN. This is a shot looking east across the river. The storm then went and hit two small hamlets, killing one elderly man.

The way those trees are twisted, I don't think the Weather service will have trouble confirming that it was a tornado. I watched one of those tear up Carl Junction, Mo back on May 4, 2003. One thing I regret is not taking more photos of my community recovering from that storm. Good shots Rick, If these hamlets are anywhere near your home It would be neat to follow them as they rebuild.

Nice post. I was on vacation when I saw the storm on TV, so I was relieved to see it had missed us in WI.

The weather service has confirmed it was a tornado, but haven't estimated the strength yet (most think F2 to F3). The path is about a quarter of a mile wide.

Just saw the news (in Vegas for a week) and Le Sueur County really got trashed, glad you made it through OK.
