If I could get a little self indulgent fora moment, some of you may remember http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=80 Well the deck is now finished and furnished so I though I would try a little low light photography "out" back.

Evening approaches, getting a little cold out these nights. (12C when we started, down to 9C when we called it a night)

But the fire is warm:

And the Stars keep you company:

Time for a little nonsense, maybe a signature:

Or even a self portrait to go with it:

As the firelight dies:

Just for fun guys, we haven't had many nice evenings lately.

Ira

I loved those shots, Ira. Made me envious, as that lovely fire bowl is illegal here in Mississauga unless it is about xxxxx feet from the house.... and my deck doesn't stretch that far....

Blessings, Rich

I have a concrete paving stone beneath it and the glass cover stores beneath so that it acts as a heat absorber. I also just use high quality commercial fire logs in it because they burn cleanly and have a predictable burn duration.

Hey Roy, if you look in this thread, do you recognize the tripod in the first picture?

Well-earned relaxation after building that deck! (And a nice slide-show. Thanks!)

What fun! Very nice, and it looks like the deck is going to get used quite a bit.

looks very nice! must be very rewarding to see & use it now that it's finished.

that "firetable" looks awesome, must be very handy for chilly summer nights.

Sold the Fieros, the weather is quite nice here again today so I got a chance to pile all the junk in the driveway... now if I only had a pick-up truck...

Nice. I thought the signature pics were very creative. I am very jealous though, I would kill to have weather where we could bundle up around a fire. It will be at least another six weeks before we start getting days cooler than the mid 90s (Farenheit, I think that is about 35 Celsius). When I retire I am so moving north.

Ira,

The deck looks very nice and seems a great place to sit out and enjoy life.

I had to inclose my desk with screens, because of the bugs during the summer and our nights are not that cool yet, but getting there.
