It's a great shot... thank you for posting it!

And if you compare mine with that one (check out the prominent crates), you can see that one of us was looking at the moon upsidedown. :blah:

Oh that's right: you're "down under."

I did notice that, suppose that my brother's telescope is some sort of 12 inch mirror reflector job...all left handed braile for me when it comes to telescopes. :blah:

Hey Steve ... thanks for the links on the falls(can hardly wait til next summer). Thought I would throw this shot out there. I did like you suggested (-1) ... used "big boy" my 170-500 Sigma but its just not as sharp as I had hoped. I know its not a telescope (my ...that's awesome!) & I guess I should have thrown the remote in the bag b4 I left the house ... but here it is!

One of my first efforts - heavily cropped, noise ninja, sharpened etc.

This is still my best effort:

An old MF Rikenon XR 135mm f2.8 plus a Takumar-A 2X teleconverter. I have tried the 500mm mirror lens with very mediocre results, I have tried the 70-200mm A f4 zoom, sharp but too small, and the 100-300mm FA f4.7-5.8, can't get a sharp shot. As a result this old shot is still my best.
