i have a second hand pentax optio s40 which is reading "memory card error".

when i opend the camera, i found that one of the pins in the card section is bent so i straighten it. all pins are touching the memory card now but it is still reading the same message. the internal memory works fine though.

can someone helps me as how i can fix this problem?

I have the exact same situation with a Pentax Optio S40. Were you ever able to resolve the Memory Card Error" message after you fixed the bent pin?

Thanks,
Kevin

I'm guessing that you're using an SD card that is >2GB, which isn't supported because Pentax is too cheap to write a firmware update to support SDHC cards.
