Anyone try a 2GB or higher capacity SD card with an S40 or S50? Thanks.

Hi, not with S40/50 but with my Optio "Altoids" S it works great- and as S is older I can see no problem with newer models :-)

Best and happy shooting, JR

It would probably work with cards up to 2GB. But, not with anything larger.

Keep in mind that most SD cards were 512MB or smaller when these cameras were introduced. So, it's not uncommon to see compatibility issues from time to time.

Cards with larger than 2GB size would require support for FAT32. So, it's very unlikely that they would work in these models.

If you decide to try a 2GB card (which would probably work), let us know if it works or not. Some models do have a few "quirks" with anything larger than 1GB, even though the file system they use should support up to 2GB.

Thanks for the replies.

I was going to pick up a 1GB one (there was a deal), but now I think I'll wait for a deal on the 2GB cards. Not like I really need anymore cards ...
