I just bought a Pentax A30.

I opened the package and saw that the battery charger, unlike Panasonic and Canon cameras I've owned in the past, requires the use of a POWER CORD.

How utterly sad, because otherwise, the camera appeared to be a very nice product. When traveling, having to pack and keep track of that power cord is just one more thing. I really like Panasonic's and Canon's solution of putting the power "prongs" right into the charger itself...very convenient.

Does anyone know of a compact battery charger that will work with the A30 that does not need a power cord?

Thanks...

I just ordered the Pentax A30 as well and had the same problem with a charger with a cord. I found a cordless charger for the A30 at http://www.cellphoneshop.com. The price is less then $20 which includes shipping. Good Luck
