When using your camera to determin the expsure (shutter speed and F-Stop) for locking in the exposure manually where do you take this metering from to determin the best exposure to lock in to manual mode. Do you meter for the bightest area of the panorama knowing that the darker areas will be under exposed but easier to correct or do you meter for the darkest area knowing that the lighter areas will be more likely to blow out and harder to fix?

I would think you would take an exposure reading or the lightest area that will be in the panorama knowing it that is easier to correct under exposure (even if you have to use a noise recduction plug-in).

The reason I am asking is I have a Manfrotto 303SPH panoramic head and a set of legs coming and I want to start doing the panoramas seriously which means taking an exposure reading and locking that in to manual.
