Default Who's

Who's they? Are we to spend hundreds of dollars to find out if something works? Don't get me wrong LCD's are great. I would not want to be without them, but their shortcomings in bright light are well known as are the design solutions.

As of today, this site is the only major camera review site that has reviewed the Optio 33wr. They said the LCD is hard to see in direct sun.
I have looked for individual reviews on all related sites but find none.

I got mine nearly 2 weeks ago and so far am very happy w/it (not a lot of bright sunlight experience yet...) If you have any specific questions I'll do my best to answer them. HTH...

Default My expereince is less than positive

I bought the 33WR five weeks ago and I have had serious difficulty with colour distortion. After taking the camera back, I was given a new one. The store took one look at the prints, printed some of their own prints and came to a very quick conclusion that the camera should not be doing that. They gave me a new one. I took another 100 shots at full quality and pixels. Again, when I developed the pics that I liked, there were some huge red and green colour distortion problems.

They can't tell me why the camera is doing this and the rep said that he would get back to me. He now has one of my cameras and taking a serious look at it.

The 33WR is my first digicam after years with a K1000 and various other cameras. I really enjoy it for outdoor photography. It takes natural looking pictures and has a great macro mode. I tend not to like the saturated colors on some cameras.

The white balance can occasionally be thrown off but nothing that can't be corrected in photoshop.
