:?Hello all. This is my first time at this site and would like your feedback. I am getting ready to buyanother digital camera and have it narrowed down to the Cannon A80 or the Pentax 43 WR. My hesitation on the Pentax is the "newness" of the camera and VERY few reviews about it. I am a avid outdoorsmanand a WR camera would suit my needs more. My only concerns with the WR 43 purchase is the "lack" of a lense cover and no reviews. The Canon A80 has high reviews and is a highly rated camera. ANY feedback on the Pentax would be greatly appreciated. I am not worried about the quality of the movie mode, only the photos themselves. Thanks. Rubuyn :?

I had the 33WR and it performed well enoughfor my average needs that I bought the 43WR when it came out (gave the 33WR to my girlfriend). So far I have no real complaints and will be taking it white water rafting next week to find out "the hard way" just how water resistant it is. As Steve's Review said, I think it's an ideal family/vacation camera. HTH...

Hi Tomac,

I read of this canoe freak who made a video sequence on the slides in a water funpark to test his 33WR. As there were no problems he went on to make group photos in the iodine water pool. Here his report (in german) with one of his underwater pictures:

It is certainly the same with the 43WR, but don't expect warranty repair if something goes wrong.

Regards
Mark
