i'VE recently had the idea to change my Olypus 300z (before him was 840c) for a compact photo-movie camera with truly good shooting quality and DVD quality movie mode

the optio mx is not bad, but still a bit large and too much of a transformer

the samsung v50 is more like it, but the movie mode is worse than in Canon S1

in fact i was on the last step of making my decision for the Canon S1, but the guys at the shop said that Pretec stopped producing Treo - the adapter, wich allows to put an SD card in a CF slot.

The SD is a crutial point for me as i have already 3 devices (car receivers, PDA) that uses SD. Wouldnt like to get a memory-stick or Xd camera and spend another 200$ on memomry that i will not be able to use elsewhere

The question is: did you ever see sample pics of the new Pentax 750z somewere or maybe Steve plans to write some words on that piece of art so i could learn every pixel and word by heart?

Yes Tema I'm sure there is a lot of interest in the 750z, begging the question as to if and when Steve will review it?

STEVE: do you plan to review this camera in the immediate future, or will we just have to wait for Pentax to send you one?

4mb per picture!!! damn! Where to find so much memory?

(( just like my old olympus 300z - overexposed and not too balanced

BUT, that one is promising: http://www.pbase.com/konfucius/image/33494562

I must admit that I think the 750Z takes a lot better pictures than I thoughtit would. The only disadvantage I can find is the price. Of course it's a bit expensive right now and the price will probably drop within long, but right now (In denmark) it costs almost the same as a nikon 8700 and a konica minolta A2.

You are right! It's the miniaturisation that you have to pay for when you buy the Optio 750Z.
I still would opt for the Optio, because you will have it with you more often and not miss a shot!
