Hey, i just bought a Pentax Optio X and i am struggling to connect it to my pc. The device detector pops up but it does not turn green when i connect my camera. I have turned off my norton internet security, and it did not work. I am not very good with computers so thats all i can think of to try to make it work so any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

What operating system (XP?) and did you install any drivers from the cd with the camera (if it came with a drivers cd). Oh, and obvious question, did you read the installation instructions which came with the camera?

Does device manager list an "unknown device" when the camera is plugged in? If so, you could try clicking on that unknown device and manually selecting the drivers for your camera.

Ok, did you install the drivers before you plugged the camera in? You could try unplugging the camera, uninstalling the drivers, re-installing the drivers and plugging in the camera.

I dont think it came with any drivers, all i have is one disk for adcsee and that just installed the program. Even when i connect the camera without the program up no hardware wizard pops up or anything so could it possibly be somit wrong with my usb slots?
