I just returned my S5Z minus a 10% restocking fee to BuyDig. The camera uses a Microsoft MPEG 4 Codec for the video recording. Quicktime cannot read the video files created by the camera. I found a Codec that someone wrote that can be added to Quicktime to correct this, but it made the videos choppy. I called Pentax and they seemed unaware and unconcerned about the problem.

Sorry, been away. I have a G3 Apple, which seems to havea hard time using any of the little tricks that people have suggested. The video comes up very choppy. The Pentax should run on the Apple natively.

Maybe you should try the plug-in EX_M4S2 - 1.0.3
QuickTime component for EXILIM/Optio MPEG-4 movies

If this does not help, it could well be that your 3G Mac needs upgrading (video card, RAM) or that your disk drive is too full not leaving enough space for the virtual memory.
