A friend asked for some advice about his Pentax Optio 50 camera. He has it connected to his PC (Windows XP) through USB. Using Windows explorer we can see the JPEG files on the camera with the usual information about file size, date and such. But when we try to drag or copy/paste the images to a folder on the PC we get a Windows message saying that the files cannot be copied and something about a "parameter error".

Any ideas?

i just had this problem and took a few hours to solve it.

the problem in my case was that the window was not showing the extension of the file name (ie IMG1046 rather than IMG1046.jpg)

to remedy this simply go to Tools/Folder Options/View then uncheck the box 'hide extensions for known file types'

once you've done this you should be able to move your files
