I am borrowing my Mom's Pentax Optio S50. I read the manuals (the good parts at least), and installed ACDSee.

When I connect to my PC via USB from the cam, the Device Detector starts as it should, finds it, & asks me if I want to copy all images or just open ACDSee. The green light is on, & the red light is blinking, signifying transfer. But before I can even make the decision toopen ACDSee, the red light gets tired & turns off, which in turn gives the green light the same idea, & not too long after that, the camera just shuts down. And then, of course, my computer can no longer detect the device.

Any ideas? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, or even to hear that others have experienced this.

Oh, & I just put in a new set of batteries.

had the same problem with my s45. It turned out to be my virus software. I'm using Norton, and if you just click "disable Auto-protect" just before turning the camera on to transfer, then it will recognize the camera. As soon as you have access to camera in explorer or whatever program you're using, you can re-enable your virus software. It just prevents it from the innitial recognition. Hope that works for you!:bye:
