I have been experiencing some problems with the pics that I take with the Optio S turning out all green/pink. This happens randomly for the most part but it is very inconvenient especially when it messes up holiday pictures etc.

Anyone else experienced this proble? If so, is there a fix for it?

I have just updated my camera firmware and have not had time to test it fully but the first 20 or so pics taken looks perfect so maybe it is cured.

Dear Clark,

I think I have the same problem. Very annoying indeed.

But I am afraid I am new in the subject of updating firmware. Would you mind explaining how this is done?

Thanks, Jef

Update:

I found how to reinstal the firmware on http://www.dzoom.org.es/postp14271.html(in Spanish), and at first theoff-color problem seemed to have improved, but now, after turning on and off a few times, it is worse.

The whole picture is greenish, pinkishand yellowish, a bit like the rainbow-like reflection on an oil film. At first it had only that problem when photographingclear surfaces that reflected light, and it could be solved to a degree by setting the value of EV compensation to -1.3 to -2.0.

It's a pity to see all that money get wasted this way, especially when I read the reviews about ravingly happy optioS users.

If somebody knows how to solve this, I'd be very grateful.

Jef.

I have an optio SV and currently have a similar problem with a purple hue appearing in the centre of the photograph....any luck in resolving this?

I also had a problem once with the LCD showing a lot of static and this showing in the photo, but after switching thecamera off and on again i have not experienced this since.
