While I am very amazed by the performance and features of my 750z, it died suddenly after 1 month use:

- lense doesn't extend
- only the startup melody but no output screen
- but startup at Review-mode (hold the review button while powering on) is OK (still can't enter capture mode).

Has anybody had similar experiecne, especially such short time after purchase?

Thx!

Merry X'mas Everybody!

Pentax repaired it (under wty) in 2 weeks.

They said it was the lense. But I suspect they replaced the motherboard as well (firmware is 1.0 vs I'd upgraded it to 1.0.1 before sending it back).

Mine died too.

Possibly a different problem: the camera 'crashed' just like a computer (frozen screen, no response - couldn't even switch power off). I got it working again by removing and replacing the battery. I sent the camera to Pentax who gave it a thorough check and found no problem. They suggested sending the SD card to be checked by Fujifilm... who gave it a thorough check and found no problem.

The camera has done this 4 times since I bought it 2 years ago. It's not the SD card, as I've been using another make. I doubt that it's the battery, butI havea different make of spare, so I can keep tabs on that.

Itis very depressing, as it's otherwise a superb camera and Idon't havethe heart to go through the whole process ofsending it off to Pentax again for another thorough check...which will probably find no problem!

Hope yours is still serving you well, G.S.
