"Blue Eyes"

I took this shot during a very active outting in a garden park in Northern Virginia. My little girl (adopted as a new born) stopped and was watching some geese in a pond. A rare quiet moment for her that I was fortunate enough to capture from a distance with a D1x and 80-400VR lens.

I used Photoshop to make the B/W copy and touched up her eyes and lips with her natural coloring picked up from other photographs that I had made of her.

She is my inspiration and my reason for living!

Hi,

A mom or a dad is the person you loves you, teaches you, helps you, lifts you on your own feets, tells you the good and tries as hard as possible to keep you away from bad and evil. I don't think she's adopted. I think she's found a great person to help her on her way to become an adult.
Your photo shows how much you love her: a very warm feeling.
Excellent photo.

Thank you, Robby. Your comments mean very much to me both in terms of the photograph and being a "dad." God bless you!

Hi tstovall...

So, you stepped up to enrich the life of a child...

That is awesome!

Your photograph is beautiful...it captures so well
your daughter's rapt attention with the geese.

It is wonderful that you take the time to show
her nature's lil wonders :)

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words, digcamfan! She has renewed the interest in nature for me. As a 53 year old guy, that was quite a paradigm shift!

I must see more of your photographs other than the little one over by your name. Do you have a site? Please pass along the link. I will also scan the posts here when I get back to my office on Friday.

Beautiful.

This is really one that falls into that "picture paints-a-thousand-words" category.

I love this picture, great expression and I am a big black and white fan. Well done. You should be a proud Daddy. :D

Very nice photo. My dad was not involved in my biological being but it is the father who loved me for me. He has molded me into the man that I am today. I lost him some 20 years ago but still praise God for his presence in my life. Children are our gifts from God.

This is one of the most sensitive photos i've ever seen... Wonderful!

Thanks to all of you for your kind words! I appreciate your viewing this photograph, and for saying the very nice things you have said. Please forgive me for being a bit tardy in replying as I have been "on the road" for several days!
