Here's a quick portrait of my daughter taken with my new Sony DSC-F717. I usually prefer candids, but some posed shots are okay - and I was anxious to try out the new camera.

I like pose, thus I like the shot
![]() Is it me or is it too soft or blured a bit? Though could be my eyes today, humidity drives me nuts. |

No..I softened it a bit because It seemed too harsh to my eye and for the feel of the pose. Maybe I overdid it?

Yeah, I think it would be better if it were a little sharper.
I'm a new F717 owner, too. Welcome aboard. ![]() |

I think you had the right idea with softening it, but you did overdo it a bit. Many cameras will render ever pore in the skin of the subject.... Too much! So you were write to soften it up a bit.
Personally, I like how the hair came out, but the softness in the face is where it shows. Also, it looks like it's a bit under to exposed. The hair has good shades and texture, but the white shirt is too white/bright. (Then again, maybe it really was!) And the hilight on the left hand seems a bit bright. Maybe you meant that effect, though? My fear is if you made it darker the hair would loose its detail and that would be sad... the hair is more important than the hand. |

Yep, too soft almost out of focus and annoys my eyes. Also agree it's a bit over exposed. Try sorting it in levels.
All the same it's a very pleasant photo. |
