both shots are great. selective colouring and wide aspect ration really nails the first shot and i do lie your mon conversion on the 2nd

Thnx ken..

On the first photo I only copyed the layer en maked it b/w then I used the eraser to put back the original colour of the eyes.

I love the eyes in the first one. To me the second one has her going off the frame.

she is posed in such away that it draws my eye to look to the right of the photos to see what she is looking at. To me if she were facing the camera, or at least have her body toward the camera it would draw more attention to her (the subject). You have a leading line (the wall she is sitting on), it creates depth in the photo in the right side of the photo. And give the feeling that the right side is more of a back drop. I would try having the subject face the opposite direction from the way the leading line draws your eye.

Here is my attempt to iliminate the confusing leading line in photoshop. I did a free transform and then cropped in tighter to place more subject on the girl.
