Took these pics during a festival last summer. These are my first concert pics that I have ever taken and would love to get critism and suggestions on how to take better pics. I'm going to a concert this sunday and would love the help. Thanks.

I shot these with my telephotic lens and on auto.

And here is a shot of another band's lead singer. This is Thousand Foot Krutch. I'm kinda proud of this picture. What do you all think?

Alphie, some really cool shots here and I agree with you the one of Trevor McNevan is really good. I like the B/W conversions and think they work really well. You have a lot of shots so won't comment on all but the one of the singer jumping is really well timed, might be worth playing around with levels a little to bring it out more if possible.

Who are the first band btw?

Thank you so much. :-) I'll try to do some levels with that jump picture and see what I come up with.

The first band is Kutless. The lead singer, Jon Micah hurt his shoulder while wakeboarding.

Ideal, I didn't recognise them but I have Double Take, Live in Portland and Hearts of the Innocent.

The last quite big (not as big as these guys) band I shot was Universal Royalty when they were in the UK for Creation Fest, here are a couple of those.

I think overall they are an excellent first effort.

I'd like to offer a couple of suggestions for you. (1) Try to shoot when the subject has their eyes open, it makes the viewer feel connected to the subject. (2) Be on the lookout for opportunities to shootas theband finishes a song and immediately thereafter. My natural inclination is to lower the camera and applaud, but if you keep shooting often you'll catch great reactions by the artist to the crowd's applause. Good luck.

Those are excellent shots guys! Were they taken at Creation? I've been to that a few times (Creation East) and it's always a blast!
