I have been trying out a number of shoots using my Fuji S9500. Here is my attempt at a portrait picture. Any feedback and comments are more than welcome,

I think you've done a nice job. Lighting is good, as is composition. However, my eye was drawn to the stray hair on her shoulder. That could be corrected in Photoshop or...

lovely model... i feel the crop is too tight around her face though

i quite like the lighting in this shot.

great subject. the hair and eye colours are great

in reference to the pose try to get your model to keep her shoulders down and keep her neck extended. gives a much longer and slender look.

i quite like close crops. i think if the shoulder was dropped more and the neck led down the frame where the shoulders occupy it would greatly improve the shot

completely agree w/ ken's advice...just wanted to add keep close eye on your shooting angle, looks like you were a bit below her. shooting from slightly above also is more flattering to the neck area.

this is a wonderful shot though, great colors and expression. I like the tight crop myself.

Ray....
I like the photo as well...Very nice looking lady and a good pose...I do however see
some hot spots ...No one else mentioned that, so maybe its my monitor...But on my screen I see 2 hotspots on her forehead and on the length of her nose on one on her chin...Still a great shot and if infact those are bright areas, any editing program will clean that up....:G

That was destracting that her neck wasn't posed right.
